(That title is from Lord of the Rings)
Iggy was walking in downtown St. Paul. He had his headphones blaring in his ears as he walked. Lately his eyes had been playing trricks on him, but he didn't mind. it kept things interesting. That's just how he liked life, interesting. Across the street he saw a man, now a beast, and now a man again walking towards a little shop. Iggy shrugged his shoulders and kept walking. He took his headphones off and put them away, his batteries were dying. This is when he found someone who was truly entertaining.

A pale, freckled faced boy was standing on St. Paul street, watching closely a dog that was near by. It kept flashing between dog and monster dog, like those other monsters he had seen, runaway from, or faught. It would only be a matter of time till it came charging at him, and he was beside an alley way so that no one would see him fight it. First time he did that in public, people kept screaming that he had a gun or something and was abusing/killing a dog. Blah, he thought to that. It was called a sword, and it was a gift from his father. It was made of a special metal, because a crowd had gathered and it just went through them when they got too close. So enough, the dog had stopped flickering and had turned into a monster that was waiting for some strange reason.
His sword was staying with him better now, for some reason it had a bit of a mind of it's own. The monster looked behind him, but he wasn't going to let his gaze wonder from it. He was still a little short for his age, but he was starting to catch up. He was wearing his black and grey t-shirt, and black and white basketball shorts. Why had the dog looked behind him? He thought to himself, and he waited to see what the dog would do next, it seemed that it was taking it's own sweet time for some reason unknown to him, but soon it wouldn't be.

Iggy looked at the kid near him. Did he have a sword? He shrugged his shoulders and looked around. Was that monster dog staring at him? It had been following him for some time now. He turned to the kid and decided to ask about the sword. "Hey my name's Iggy, if you don't mind me asking, why the hell do you have a sword?" He wiated for an answer looking from the kid to the dog, he didn't want to take his eyes off either of them, he knew something was brewing and it wasn't going to be good.

The boy backed up closer to the ally and then he could see the dog and guy at the same time. "Name's Trevor, I got it to protect me from these monsters here," he said and shrugged toward the dog. "Now that you know about them, they'll start coming up and try to kill you by the way, I hope you like life interesting," he said to Iggy. What a weird name, Iggy. The guy looked like he could last awhile, but ya never know about these types. The dog had took a step forward and was getting closer to the two of them. He wondered if he should tell Iggy that his sword could only hurt himself and monsters. He figured it out when it scratched his arm once. He got a better grip on his sword and when he did that the dog charged at him. He jumped back into the ally and kept slashing the sword at it when ever it got too close. He was heading to the back of the ally to finish this one. He hoped Iggy wouldn't get in the way.

Iggy stepped back and calculated the attacks each opponent made. So these were not his imagination. Well he would stick with the other boy since he didn't have a weapon. He watched the slice work done and figured that would a good choice of weapon for himself. He grinned as the pooch was finished off. "I do love life interesting, hope you don't mind if I tag along."

He put his sword away and across his back. He then looked to Iggy. "You won't get anywhere if you follow me. I'm just surviving right now with no where special to go," he said. It was true, he had no where to go and only wondered around usually. He was looking for a safe place to stay from monsters.
